Vito Stampanoni Bassi Born in Milan, engineer. In the Seventies, he was consultant to the Minister of Hydraulics in Algeria, for installing and managing the local National Computing Center.
He designed the first informatic system to choose – inside waiting lists – the patients to implant, while optimizing all different parameters: tissue compatibility, logistics, etc.
Between 1981 and 1991, he was responsible of the Videotel project at Sip/Telecom Italy. He was president of the “Worldwide Videotex No Problem Club”, which was the association of all public services providers in the world.
From 1991 to 1995, he was Director of the VSB newsletter, one of the most authoritative magazines of the sector, published in Italian and in English. From 1998 to 2004, he directed a team that designed and realized informatic platforms for pre-payments of telephone traffic, bank cards, pay-per-view cards, etc. In the same period, another team under his guide developed a cryptated telephony service for an Israelian company. He is now director of the English company Cibus Italian Food Ltd. and member of the Municipal Council at San Casciano dei Bagni (SI) and President of a local Consortium for the development of tourism in the region.
